DEER!!
Yup, driving along... normal city streets....
corner of my eye spotted something like a baby deer
in 0.34 seconds
the mother ran in front of my car
in 0.03 seconds
braked. phew.

Oven
To illustrate how hot it is here today, you can try the following:
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F
2. Wait until it has reached the desired temperature
3. Open it
4. you will feel what I feel when I opened the front door today
it's 30 degrees rite now (8pm)

Mysterious Turtle

It suddenly showed up on our 1 story high deck (don't exactly know how he climbed up)
Hang around and tried to jump down, but got stuck and flipped itself to its back. Flip himself back.
Got tired. Sat. Drank/spilled some water.
Picked it up. It smelled really bad. Put it by the pond in the golf course (where we all think is its home)

A Stroll Around Town- Part 2 (Food)
Ben's Chili Bowl

It is famous, because it's got history and Obama went there.

"Chili Half Smoke"- Tastes good, but nothing special. (Japadog is still better!)

Pitango Gelato @ P Street

Shown above: Chocolate Hazelnut & Pistachio Gelato
Hands down, one of the best I've had.
More photos on facebook btw.

Watched this today. 11:05am show. $6. the whole theater was mine. lol!! (包場)
Life without my ps3/ games is rather dreadful...
usually when I feel kinda frustrated, disturbed, and/or confused... I would go play and feel better afterwards.
Here though, I don't have anything to game with.... I therefore think of stuff too much.. then becomes emo =/
haha! i was so happy when i found H-Mart just 3 minutes drive from here... it's small and ugly compared to Coquitlam's... but still good!

a little late posting this (got lazy)

my new toy. So cheap here!
and some douchebag threw rocks at the backyard patio door.. and broke one layer of the glass. grr!! but props for the police for arriving in 15 mins for a non-emergency call like this. there is a golf course behind the yard here, so it must've been some drunkasses finding rocks from the pond and chucking it to the nearest house.

Excursion
Went on a half-day excursion today...
First up went to Arlington to find this clothing shop, but it closed down. To get there I took the Metro:

Editing: FAIL! (laziness strikes)
So... the clothing place closed down.. not that hungry... but still have to eat.
Found this place, thought it looked cool.. so gave it a try.
Bad tasting sandwich, which cost me $13 bucks... and the worst part is they try to be hip and organic... fail!

So after lunch, it was kinda early... so I decided to go give the Pentagon a visit.
Found out that I need to book 3-4 weeks before to go in.. said a police holding a very large gun... kinda scary. But then I understand why tho.

Too much information...
what should you believe? who should you believe?
the doctor? books? experiences from others?
should we base our decisions on facts? but are facts skewed?
or should we just follow what everyone is doing?
too many doubts.. too many answer.. too much information.
however, when it comes down to life and death... we cannot neglect these things.
the risk is just too much to make the wrong decision.
or should we just quote "@boylouie: 99% of what we worry about doesn't happen. Take control of your thoughts and quit fighting for that 1%"

Tiring day today, but I shall get used to it. Currently breaking-in to the day-to-day routines of shopping, driving, cooking, etc... (haven't even got to cleaning yet = =) To be honest, doing those things alone is actually not bad.
What drains you is when you have to accommodate everyone's needs... for example, cooking for picky eaters = double the work.
**Cousin just walked in asking if I need medicine for my headache**
That alone is worth the work laaaaaaa :)

By the way, this is a cool little gadget that they offer at the groceries store.
What you do is...
- you scan your items as you shop (excluding the produce items of course)
- once you are done, go to the self-check out counters and scan this code to complete your shopping
- all the stuff you scanned will be transferred to the self-check out screen
- if you don't have any other things to weigh, etc... you can pay and leave
- also.. every 2 mins or so, it will beep showing you something that's on sale today. (LOOK: I can save $1.50 for getting fat by buying pancake mix!)

Baltimore...
Couldn't sleep, and woke up at 5:30am today. Watched about an hour of drama, then took another 30 mins nap.
Since I woke up early and the kids have a bday party at 9:30 today, I have decided to make a big breakfast for everyone. (they called me Mary/Felix Poppins the whole day) lol!!
After looking at crazy nice houses by the lake after the party, we went to this beautiful place called Baltimore.
The place with the green shelter is Hard Rock Cafe's outdoor grill.
Constant lineup for the 2 hours when we were there...
Oh, this photo was before we went to eat at the Cheesecake factory. Their portion was too big, no wonder Americans suffer from obesity... I mean they can charge the same price with half the portion and I will still be happy.

today i spent the morning fighting jet lag and a slight runny nose problem from yesterday. (actually i think the runny nose was from the rainy bike ride on Tuesday haha!)

Arrived...
First Blog.
Flight...
One word: lucky.
Comfy (didn't have to sit with anyone for both flights)
faster than scheduled (even after a 15 min. Delay in LA)
My plan of picking bad seats in hopes of sitting by myself and getting
business class room worked (with a bit of luck)
Airport...
There is a reason why Vancouver is rated as one of the best airports
in the world. Free wifi, logical layout of terminals, good selection
of food, free wifi, nicely designed, free wifi.
In LA, I had to walk 15 mins from terminal 7 to terminal 4 because I
have to switch to an American Airline flight. That is going down
stairs, walking outside of the building, going back into he building,
finding someone for directions, going back upstairs, check-in, going
up the escaltor, passing security again, and walking to the gate.
All they had were fast food and starbucks. I had BK which was kinda
disgusting (YVR had Tim Hortons =D ) Oh! And you have to pay for
wifi. Ridiculous!
Anyways, this was written on the way to Washington. 5:25am local
time. Landing in 10 mins. Bye!
